History
Jay Webster is a Federally licensed Chief Engineer of steam, motor, and gas turbine vessels with a Bachelor of Marine Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime College (SUNY). He is also a NAMS Certified Marine Surveyor and a certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor with extensive experience in the marine and cruise industry, both at sea and ashore.
Jay has spent the last 35 years managing the life cycle management of various types of assets for companies in the maritime industry. He has comprehensive knowledge of MODUs, passenger vessels, inland and ocean-going cargo vessels, dredges, research vessels, and international towing vessels. Webster specializes in environmental regulations and compliance and has been vetted as lead auditor on a series of environmental audits by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Jay uses his education and experience to collaborate with subject matter experts, contractors, and clients on auditing, surveying, and operations. He believes a multifaceted team approach yields the best results and helps clients develop management systems and procedures based on this principle. With every project, he strives to increase efficiency without sacrificing any attention to detail. JWM opened its doors in 2019. Since then they’ve completed environmental audits on dozens of MODUs and ships.
